Purdue University Fishing Team

We are a team dedicated to people who love fishing. It doesn't matter where you're from or how big your boat is (or if you even have one at all). We love getting to know new people and introduce them to our favorite sport.

The Purdue University Fishing team was founded in 1990 by professional fisherman Shad Schenck. He organized the first ever tournament between two universities that same school year. Since then, Purdue has held the Old Minnow Bucket tournament against IU every year. Today, the club has over 90 members, with an an average of 26 competing in our Purdue-only tournaments.

In addition, we also fish inter-collegiate tournaments. Purdue has 4 Big Ten fishing titles, and in 2021, we had two teams place 3rd and 5th in the tournament. Purdue has also competed in national tournaments historically, and plans to compete in those again in 2023.
